Why choose locally made handcrafts?

There are a lot of reasons why buying locally made handcrafted pottery is so special. You know that:

• Each item is truly unique! No matter what the item is, it has been thrown, trimmed, built and glazed by hand so every item is a one-off - even if part of a set! Have a close look and you will see that no two items are absolutely identical.

• While every effort is made to ensure each item in a product range is made the same, the reality that there will be minor variations in the form, weight and glazing of each piece - this uniqueness is to be enjoyed.

• Our items are made from locally sourced materials, glazed using our own glazes, and all this is done from our Albany (Auckland North Shore) studio.

• Nothing that we sell is made off-shore - everything is genuinely Kiwi-made, here in Tamaki Makaurau. Apart from the raw materials, the only other elements used are local electricity, water and heaps of our time.

• You are supporting both of us, our whanau and, in doing so, enabling us to continue growing our skills and passion for clay.

So thanks for supporting us and contributing to the local economy.
